Topic: Has anyone gotten a check from the EQ ?

If so, when and what is your zipcode. This is now on their website: NOTICE:   CHECKS FOR THE FIRST GROUP OF APPROVED PAYMENTS WERE DELIVERED TO THE US POST OFFICE ON FEBRUARY 16, 2010.   AS OF MARCH 1, 2010 THE POST OFFICE HAS NOT DELIVERED ANY OF THE 1,496 CHECKS TO THE 27502 ZIP CODE BUT HAVE DELIVERED CHECKS TO ALL OTHER ZIP CODES MAILED AT THE SAME TIME.   BECAUSE THE THIS GROUP OF CHECKS WERE MAILED BY FIRST CLASS MAIL USING SPECIAL PROCESSING UNDER OUR USPS PERMIT NUMBER, WE HAVE PROOF OF DELIVERY TO THE US POST OFFICE.   A FORMAL COMPLAINT HAS BE LOGGED WITH THE US POSTAL SERVICE AND THEY ARE SEARCHING FOR THE LOST MAIL.   WE CANNOT REISSUE THESE PAYMENTS UNTIL WE KNOW WHAT HAPPENED TO THE LOST CHECKS.   WE WILL CONTINUE TO WORK WITH THE US POST OFFICE TO BRING ABOUT A SPEEDY RESOLUTION TO THIS ISSUE.    PS:  IF YOU CALLED THE APEX POST OFFICE AND WERE TOLD THAT THE DELAY WAS CAUSED BECAUSE THE MAILING WAS STAGGERED TO SAVE MONEY, THIS IS TOTALLY INACCURATE.  ALL 1.678 CHECKS WERE SUBMITTED AT THE SAME TIME TO THE US POST OFFICE FOR DELIVERY AND WE HAVE THE SUBMISSION RECEIPT STAMPED BY POST OFFICE PERSONNEL TO PROVE IT Back to Top   CaniacGuy Senior Member Joined: August 10 2006 Location: United States Online Status: Offline Posts: 207 Posted: March 01 2010 at 2:14pm | IP Logged dk~hd wrote: Wondering if anyone has gotten a check from the EQ settlement. They are very negligent to say the least.   I have repeatedly told them to stop delivering the previous owner of my address. I have been getting their first class mail for over 3 years.; even though they have clearly filled out a change of address and live in another state now.  I even taped a note in my mailbox of who lives here and they ignore it. I have gotten insurance papers, work papers, etc. all first class. I put them back in the box with a note and they sit there. One time I even delivered them to the Realtor who sold us the house who has contact with previous owner.   I have given up.  I also occasionally get someones mail with the same house number but they have a different street name but live in my subdivision. The street names do not even resemble each other; just the numbers are identical. The last names are also totally different. I have been told I should complain but haven't taken the time.Others have told me the Apex po has problems! If I had a check coming I would surely complain now. Same general question but a couple people have gotten their checks (myself included).  It seems that a big batch of checks was delivered on 3/3 to homes that were in the primary evacuation zone.  The thread on the other site seems to indicate that people that live in the secondary zone will get theirs in a second round.  Someone also stated that if there was a problem with your claim you would receive a letter and be given 10 days to correct the information that they need.
