Starting in April I will be delivering locally grown fruits and veggies to members in Apex. I learned about The Produce Box a few months ago and really loved the concept. Now that I have a child of my own, I am much more aware of the importance of eating fresh produce...not produce that has travelled 1600 miles to get to the grocery store.  Your box of produce is delivered to your home each week - doesn't get more convenient than that! There is no commitment and no large upfront fees - just a $10 enrollment fee. Produce boxes come in two sizes - small for $22 a week and large for $38 a week.  Members can skip weeks with no penalty and also add extra like local honey, maple butter, and fresh breads.  Quite a few Apex residents expressed an interest last year, but the company did not have a coordinator in the Apex area.  Please feel free to email me at eileen.mueller@theproducebox.com  if you would like more information on how the program works.  Here is the website that really explains the concept in greater detail. http://www.theproducebox.com/ Thanks, <> Eileen Mueller Edited by eileen&matt on March 17 2010 at 10:28am Back to Top   eileen&matt Newbie Joined: July 17 2005 Location: United States Online Status: Offline Posts: 25 Posted: January 30 2010 at 10:01am | IP Logged Hi All, I've had quite a few people contact me about The Produce Box.  Here is some more specifc information on how the program works: - Each week members would get an email from me reminding them to go to the website and select which option they want for the week (box A, B, or C). - Mr. Lee from Lee's Farm in Johnston County then drops off all boxes at my house in Apex.  I then deliver them to the members in Apex. - There is no commitment and no large upfront fees - just a $10 enrollment fee. - Produce boxes come in two sizes - small for $22 a week and large for $38 a week.  The large box typically is good for 6-8 people. - Your produce is delivered the same day it was harvested from the Lee's farm.
