Chances are if you lived in Apex prior to 1980 you know my husband, Kent Gilliam, or one of his family members. He is a forth generation Apex native. His father is, Nevin Gilliam, Jr. His father is one of nine, with eight aunts and uncles and a multitude of cousins, you can see how in the small town that was Apex, you would know my husband or someone from his family.
I on the other hand moved to Cary with my parents and brother from San Francisco in 1982. I graduated from Cary High in 1989 and UNC-Charlotte in 1993. After graduating from college with a degree in Psychology, I needed a job. My great aunt was a successful Realtor and my mother suggested I give it a try. I did, and I love it!
I started my real estate career at Howard Perry & Walson, Better Homes & Gardens, that is where I met my husband. Soon after we started dating he moved on to building homes. After gaining valuable experience working for others he started Gilliam Custom Homes. He is the best at what he does: remodeling; additions and new construction of homes. After 7 years as a top sales associate at HP&W, I left and started a new company with a partner, Hamilton & Gilliam Realty. In late 2008, I started Gilliam & Associates Realty. Pete Smith & Pam Kastl joined me. Together we are committed to providing the kind of service that makes you want to tell your friends and family to use us. We want to be "Your Realtors for Life!"
September 11, 1999, Kent & I got married in Downtown Raleigh. I can not believe we are celebrating our 10th anniversary this year! I am also celebrating living in Apex for 10 years now. The years have brought lots of growth, which I personally enjoy...however, depending on the traffic and can drive my husband crazy. Since we are both in the "home business" we remind each other that more people equal more opportunities to share this fabulous town we call home with others.
We currently live in Cameron Park subdivision. Funny enough it is within walking distance of one of my bff's from the neighborhood I grew up in, Pirate's Cove, in Cary. We love that Cameron Park is so conveniently located to Everything! Especially now that the Peakway & Zeno roads are completed.
I look forward to getting to know you. Please contact me if my husband, Kent Gilliam, or I, Gina Gilliam, can be of service to you.

I am sorry if my post offended you. That was not my intention. As with
most small business owners, my business is a huge part of my life, and who
I am. I read a few other introduction posts and was using them as a guide.
I only wanted to share a little bit about who I am, so that as others read the
future posts I write, they will know something about my perspective.
