Cary-Apex-Morrisville ? I was just thinking these three are so similar, just sprawling subdivisions with big box shopping. Is there any reason to keep them separate? At least from an local governing municipality perspective? Wouldn't their citizens be best served uniting these into one? There must be a fair amount of cost duplication that could be eliminated in doing so.

Instead of electing a new candidates have a referenedium to disolve the local goverement and unite it with Cary?   There can be still be on the map Apex, but save the dollars and just have one governing body.

Can't support that, I moved out of Cary, and don't want their city tax or their annexation fever. Ever had to deal with the town of Cary?? No thanks... A fine idea to combine, but the players won't play well together.

democracy is not most cost efficient method of government. if we want the cheapest option, definitely need to go with Benevolent Dictatorship.

on a more serious note, there are advantages and disadvantages to mergers. i think in some places, the entire county has merged with the cities to form a single government.
