A group of us has signed up to play in the apex adult soccer league. Unfortunately, three weeks into the season and still haven't played a game.
First week was Easter so the games had to be rescheduled, understandable. Second week, it rained in the morning, so they called the games, although by the times the games started it was fine out.
third week, after checking the Athletic hotline multiple times, which was updated that afternoon at 2:30 confirming the games were still on, we all showed up at game time to find the gates locked and no officials there. Someone spoke with someone at the department around 4:00 who confirmed that the games were still on and did not seem to care that there were no officials there.
Turns out that someone notified one guy on our team 20 minutes before the game who couldn't get in touch with us in time.
I know its not a major issue, just a little disappointing, could've been handled better and saved 15 of us from driving out with no idea what was going on. Update the hotline or send an official out at game time just to let us know. Or even better, be a little more liberal with allowing us to play on a damp field.
