Xios is incredibloy good! I did not much of anything about Greek food - so this has been a learning experience for me - and how wonderful it has been. My favorite? The Gyro - as a platter with Salad instead for fries. Just perfect - lots of meat, pita, salad, fresh tomato and the best yogurt sauce ever! I love the calamarkita - fesh, not chewy, not greasy. again, perfect. try the chicken sandwich for luch, or make a meal out of a couple appetizers. Dinner - I love it. The chicken stuffed with spinach; the pork chops and gravy SOOOOO tender; the lamb chops? 3 chops seasoned beautifully - incredible. Salads? they have one that is cucumbers, tomatos, grenn pepper, red onions capers and olives with Feta cheese - I get add shrimp on mine (6 or 7 big shrimp). You can get take-out and it is better than anything you can get anywhere else. I like to stop in and get the green beans and tomato, and take that home for my veggie.
the food is healthy, well cooked, good portions. the flavors dance in your mouth. Try it - you will be very surprised at what a good thing we have here in town.

I am in no way related to anyone who works at Xios. So, this is an unbiased review.

I went there last weekend and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I went with a group of 5 adults and 2 infants. Service was good, and the staff was helpful with questions or suggestions from the menu. We ordered a bunch of things and shared them across the table. Some of the items were bigger than expected - good portion sizes. Great mix of flavors and textures, and nothing was bland here. Many of the appetizers would be plenty for a whole meal. Here's what I tried -
- greek spread pikilia (huge, good sampler if you're not sure what to get, friends had grape leaves elsewhere that they hated but tried here and liked, warning that the garlic in the skordalia is good but may be strong for some)
- gigantes (big bowl served room temp as it says on menu, not mushy like beans can be)
- calamarakia (fried, but not chewy or greasy, they were good)
- horiatiki (mix of hearty vegetables with an oil-based dressing, we had some leftover and it seemed it'd be ok as leftovers unlike many salads)
- avgolemono
- soup of the day (I think it was sausage and bean)
Overall, a positive visit, and I think we'll be back.

I can't say enough good things about them. One word of advice - if you are ordering a variety of "mezethes" (essentially Greek tapas), be sure to ask what comes with each. For example, we ordered dolmathes and also ordered the tzatziki, and found that the dolmathes already come with a generous side of tzatziki. We've been there enough now that we know what combination work for us. One of our daughters is vegetarian, so this is a perfect place for all of us.

Yum! This food was authentic, and delicious. The gyros meat was tender and very flavorful. The retsina was just like I remember it from Greece. I will return.

Unfortunately, growing up in very urban surroundings might have tainted my view on the type of greek food served at Xios. I have had better gyros at those tiny hole in the wall pizza joints growing up as a young one. I would recommended Greek Fiesta at Crossroads.

It was just okay for me. I didn't like the modern decor. When you think of Greece- you think of ancient times and all the other greek restaurants I have been to have had more of a historic flair. Taverna Agora is much better in my opinion.

It's fabulous. We've been going to Xios since it opened and have rarely been disappointed. The modern decor is refreshing as most area eateries are far more traditional. Their gyros are delicious for a great price.

My wife and I love it! We're both vegetarian and have always been pleased
with the selection and quality of the food, and the service has been great
too.
Give it a try! You won't be disappointed!

No posts for XIOS since September?
FYI - Xios has Belly dancers at dinner every weekend - First and Third Friday, and now the Second and Forth Saturday....
If you've never been at dinner when the belly dancer dances - you are missing a great time. Very Greek, very fun.
Food is still the best - and brunch on Sundays. They do have a kids menu, complete with foods kids like, kid cups and even ice cream!
